Subtle and poetic, Anderson’s work is evocative of urban mythologies, both deeply sentimental and restrained.

Informed by a background in journalism and inspired by the lush landscapes of her native Pacific Northwest, her images are inherently narrative, expanding on ideas with a sculptural and inquisitive eye. She tells stories honoring the radiance of ordinary things, activating her images with an instinctual use of color, mood and tone, giving even her still images a cinematic quality.

Her work and subjects are diverse— ranging from editorial portraiture to travel documentary projects and lifestyle commissions. Her projects have taken her to Eastern Europe, Eritrea, and Iceland where she’s collaborated with Yves Saint Laurent, i-D, Vogue, and Dazed among others.

Her film “Migratory,” won best cinematography at the Fashion Film Festival Milano in 2016. In 2017, Fashion Film Festival Milano and Vogue Italia commissioned her to write and direct a short film called “Lilies” as part of their “Through my Eyes” series. This year, her short documentary on photographer David LaChapelle, commissioned by Nowness, will be an official selection of the International Festival of Films on Art in Montréal.

She has been shortlisted for Art Director Club’s Young Guns Award and
was listed as one of PDN’s “30 Photographer’s to watch” in 2019.
